Greenman of Valency Valley. The willow figure installed in the Butterfly Glade makes an impressive if eerie figure. The sculpture created thanks to a collaborative venture by sculpture Serena De La Hay
and pupils from Boscastle Primary School. The area is home to the Pearl Bordered Fritillary butterfly,
once-common, now only found in certain parts, was also the inspiration for the figure.
There are now 5 smaller willow figures see if you can spot them on your stroll, they start when you first reach the river..

Logan Rock situated on Bodmin Moor can be moved by rocking back and forth. Rough Tor rises from the Moor to a height of 400 meters the second highest point in Cornwall, Brown Willy 1.5Km to the west of Rough Tor being the highest at 417 meters. to the left are remains of Bronze age settlements.

pic10
The moor's most famous ghost. On Sunday 14th April 1844 Charlotte Dymond was found murdered on the slopes of Roughtor. Her lover, a crippled farmhand called Matthew Weeks was later hanged at Bodmin Goal for the crime. Since that time, and especially on the anniversary of her death, Charlotte has been seen walking in the area, clad in a gown and a silk bonnet. There is a memorial stone at Roughtor Ford which marks the site of her murder and her grave lies in the churchyard at Davidstow.

Found some 2 miles from Boscastle on the right of the coastal path. A curious arched rock for those with a brave heart and steady head to step through onto a narrow ledge of rock and peer down onto foaming surf. Well worth veering off on your walk to Tintagel

MINSTER CHURCH
The name Minster (Latin: monasteritim) suggest that at one time a monastery stood here.
"The Minster of the trees! A lonely dell - Deep with grey oaks, and mid their quiet shade - Grey with moss of years, yon antique cell! - Sad are those walls: The cloister lowly laid - Where passing monks at solemn evening made - Their chanted orisons: and as the breeze - Came up the vale, by rock and tree delay'd, - They heard the awful voices of many seas - Blend with the passing hymn - thou Minster of the Trees" - Rev. R S. Hawker's description of Minster Church.

Forrabury (St Symphorian) Church was Norman but little remains of that era.
? Two churches which serve Boscastle, the one at Forrabury, high on the bare hill south of the village, is not as easy to miss as Minster (see pic14), tucked in the woodland of Valency Valley

Boz looan
(selling the wind) celabrations 2002
The 'wise woman' of Boscastle would tie 9 knots in a piece of rope and sell it to the sailors so if they hit the doldrums they could release the wind captured in the knots.
